Event Recap | HKANC Wine & Dine in Napa and New Chapter Launch Reception

Last Friday (8/26), HKANC hosted the Wine & Dine in Napa day tour and the new chapter launch reception. More than 50 guests and industry leaders joined this event and shared the delightful day in the beautiful Napa Wine Country.

The day tour was kicked off at the renowned Domaine Carneros Winery, where our members and guests enjoyed the savoring fine sparkling wine tasting experience and learned more about the wine and food pairing.

In the afternoon, guests were invited to attend the New Chapter launch reception hosted by HKANC Board Member - Ms. Margaret Wong at her private estate, the Empress Court Vineyards. Various Empress wines and appetizers were generously served by Margaret and her lifelong friends, Dawn, Margie, and Vicky, which she referred to as "DMV".

During the opening remark, HKANC Chair - Ms. Kory Lam welcomed everyone and shared the history of the Association. She later invited Margaret to share her passion for expanding the Association's footprint to the Napa and Sacramento Region, given many successful entrepreneurs and professionals are eager to connect and support the Hong Kong Community.

Following the warm introduction, keynote guests included Mayor Porsche Middleton (The City of Citrus Heights) and Mr. Thien Ho, Sacramento County District Attorney, who promoted the importance of diversity and inclusivity, which fosters the growth of different businesses and cultures in Napa. Ivonne Zhu also shared her expertise in winemaking and her inspiring story of entering the wine industry. Lively dialogues were exchanged in the pleasant afternoon and summer breezes.

The group later visited the Culinary Institute of America at Copia and enjoyed the delectable Chinese cuisine at Empress M. It was a fun-filled and educational event with delicious wine and food.

Once again, we are very honored to have everyone's presence and to witness the significant milestone of the New HKANC Chapter. We appreciate Margaret and her friend's wonderful hospitality, which showed us Napa's extensive wine and culinary culture, especially the great friendships and inspiring stories.

HKANC will continue to act as the bridge between Northern California and Hong Kong. We welcome you to attend our next events and sign up for our membership and newsletters. Meanwhile, we can't wait to see what happens soon in Napa and Sacramento Region.

Thank you for attending,

HKANC Board of Directors - Wilson Lau, Darius Chan, Brian Rowbotham, and Kelvin Chan

Director of HKTDC Los Angeles Office - Ms. Tiffany Wong,

Deputy Director of HKETO San Francisco Office - Ms. Emily Ng,

HKBAN / NUSHKBA Officer - Ms. Fion Chong,
