Mission Statement

The Hong Kong Association of Northern California (HKANC), founded in 1984, is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization for business professionals in Northern California. HKANC is devoted to fostering closer economic, cultural and academic ties between Hong Kong and Northern California and to facilitate business opportunities for individuals and corporations interested in Greater China and its neighboring region.

Throughout the years, The HKANC has organized a variety of relevant programs in keeping with its mission. Programs include distinguished speakersí luncheons, informative seminars, panel discussions and business mixers featuring visiting government officials, business leaders from Hong Kong, the U.S. and other areas of the world. Programs

The Association sponsors a variety of programs throughout the year, both independently and jointly with other organizations. These programs are informative as well as providing our members with networking opportunities:

  • Luncheons, breakfast seminars and panel discussion with distinguished speakers from Hong Kong, the U.S. and other areas of the world.
  • Roundtable meetings with visiting government and business leaders to exchange experiences, share ideas and generate business opportunities.
  • Social & Fundraising events' including Annual Scholarship Fundraising Golf Tournaments, open house, networking cocktail mixers, and the Gala event, the Association's gala black-tie affair which annually draws virtually the entire membership and their guests.

HKANC Scholarship Programs

HKANC is dedicated to the progress and success of our future business leaders of tomorrow. In 2001, the Association initiated a Scholarship Program designed to provide scholarships to undergraduate university students of high academic distinction. This is based on the belief that investing in today's youth will help to ensure that students strive to achieve their goals and to develop into leaders of tomorrow. Since the program's inception, HKANC has donated more than $300,000 to the University of California, Berkeley and San Francisco State University benefit business students of high academic achievement from Hong Kong and China.

The HKANC is a member association of the FHKBAW, which has grown to include 35 Hong Kong Business Associations in 24 countries with more than 11,000 members across Asia, Australasia, Europe and North America. By joining HKANC, you will also become a Federation associate and can enjoy a wide range of benefits' including access to a global list of business contacts, free admission to Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) local trade fairs, and will be eligible to attend the Hong Kong Forum, a two-day event giving federation members from around the world the latest insights and information on doing business in Hong Kong and in the Chinese Mainland.

HKANC is one of the Twelve charter members of the National U.S. Hong Kong Business Association, with the objective of facilitating and assisting with the development of new Hong Kong Associations throughout the U.S.A. NUSHKBA is currently serving over 2,600 individual member associates from twelve Hong Kong Associations located in the states of California, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, Florida, Nevada and Washington.
